Mothers Who Make -Perth

In 2019, under the mentorship of MWM founder Matilda Leyser (Improbable, UK) Michelle created the Mothers Who Make Perth Hub.  This held-space makes room for artist-caregivers to meet, find peer support and join a conversation around the experience of creating while you care.  We share resources, discuss barriers to participation, iterations of motherhood(s) and caregivers and value the dual roles of caring and creating equally.  Hub sessions take place in an adult centred arts venue where children and those in your care are always welcome. Michelle facilitates the 200+ online Facebook community, the in-person hub sessions and the Mother Artist Feature each month. Michelle acknowledges and is grateful for the work of Susie Conte in the early stages of setting up the group.

In 2019, Michelle was featured as Mother of The Month. read the article here.
